Rieko Egami

Born in 1989 in Nara Prefecture. Rieko Egami is an artist who graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts, where she completed the Master’s program in Oil Painting. Her artistic vision centers on expressing the intrinsic nature of « space itself » surrounding her motifs. Egami directs her attention towards the invisible dimension within empty spaces, where imaginary artificial structures and plants intertwine. Through her paintings, she assembles the space by layering random brushstrokes, imbuing them with elements of rising, blurring, and dyeing. Her ultimate goal is to craft « space paintings » that transcend both figurative and abstract representations.
